Arab countries will allow the Qatar airspace to be used in emergencies
CAIRO/DUBAI, 30 Jul — RIA Novosti. Four Arab countries boycotting Qatar (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt), will allow Qatar aircraft to use its airspace in emergency situations, according to the Saudi news Agency SPA, citing a statement by the state civil aviation Agency.
“This confirms the fact that we adhere to aviation security. As a rule, in such circumstances, have reached agreements to air corridors, which are used in case of emergency”, — stated in the message. According to the Agency, this measure was adopted under the auspices of ICAO, which coordinates this kind of arrangement.
In total, according to Saudi news Agency, identified nine corridors.
One of the air corridors under control of Egypt allocated over the Mediterranean sea, the other eight are in the Gulf region.
A notification has been made for captains of aircraft.
This measure shall enter into force on 1 August.
