A criminal case of negligence filed after a fire in prison hospital in Vladivostok

The dead prisoners could not move without assistance.

Moscow. July 31. INTERFAX.RU — the Death of four prisoners during a fire at the regional hospital of the Main Department of Federal service of execution of punishments (GUFSIN) in Vladivostok will be investigated in the framework of the criminal case.

“A criminal case on the fact of negligence on the part of officials PKU Hospital GUFSIN of Russia for the Primorsky Krai”, — said Monday the Agency “Interfax” the senior assistant administrator of Investigatory management SKR across Primorski Krai the Aurora Roman.

The case was initiated under part 3 of article 293 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation (the negligence which has entailed death of two and more persons).

The investigators established staff who are responsible for compliance with fire safety. Also investigated the circumstances which prisoners in case of fire not evacuated. As noted, because of a disease they could not move independently.

“At the time of the incident in the chamber of the therapeutic Department of the hospital were four patients who, in connection with the diseases could not walk without assistance”, — said Roman.

As reported, the fire at the hospital of the penitentiary in Vladivostok occurred on Sunday. The fireplace was in the economic block. In the smoke suffocated four convicted. According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire was a short circuit in the wiring.
