SAINT PETERSBURG, July 30. /TASS/. Festive events dedicated to the Day of the Navy celebrated on the last Sunday of July, held throughout the country from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, but the most notable event of the day promises to become the main naval parade in St. Petersburg, a tradition which is revived this year.
Parade in St. Petersburg
The main naval parade in the country will be held in the Neva river in St. Petersburg and the Kronstadt naval RAID. As explained earlier, the Deputy commander of the Navy of Russia Alexander Fedotenkov, holding such celebrations is a return to the traditions of Peter the Great, who held a review of ships after the decisive victory of the Russian fleet at Gangut in 1714.
