The head of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Leonid Slutsky considers that the response of the Russian foreign Ministry on the US sanctions against Russia is logical and adequate.
“The decision is absolutely adequate. We do not allow our strategic friends reproach us some too… We responded with a mirror and totally natural, as to swallow such a pill becomes simply unaffordable,” said Slutsky, the TV channel “Russia 24”.
The MP said that Russia for a long time suffered and urged the us side to common sense, however, the “Washington such calls are not heard”.
Earlier Friday, the Russian foreign Ministry said that Russia in response to sanctions the United States reserves the right, in order of reciprocity, to take action that may affect American interests. Also Russia suspended from August 1 the use of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow all storage areas on a Traffic street and cottages in the Serebryany Bor.
The U.S. Senate on Thursday passed the law on sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea. Earlier this week the house of representatives of the United States Congress adopted by an overwhelming majority (419-3). Now the law will be sent for signature to President Donald Trump, who has the right to veto it. To overcome a veto, Congress needs two-thirds votes in each chamber that, based on the results of past polls, it is highly likely.
