The former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili said that the social networks questionnaire on citizenship of Ukraine is not his signature. About it the politician wrote in his Facebook.
“I looked for a copy of the questionnaire on the basis of which the President was deprived of my citizenship. So, I responsibly claim that this is not my signature and I have not filled in the questionnaire!”, — Saakashvili wrote.
He also said that require to carry out handwriting examination, because “here we are dealing with a criminal offence”.
On 27 July, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, head of Ukrainian delegation to PACE Vladimir Aryev has posted on his page in Facebook photo of Saakashvili’s statements, in which the former President of Georgia indicated that it is “under trial and investigation on the territory of foreign States”. The day before the Ukrainian President signed a decree on depriving Saakashvili of citizenship because of the provision of false information in official documents.
In Georgia against Saakashvili initiated a number of criminal cases. One of them is accused of embezzlement of state funds. He also announced an internal investigation.
