Putin in St. Petersburg takes the Main naval parade to mark Navy Day

SAINT PETERSBURG, July 30. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at the Main naval parade to mark Navy Day in St. Petersburg. Supreme commander inspected the ships lined up before the holiday on the roads of the Neva.

The President recalled that the history of Russia is inseparably linked with the victories of her “brave, fearless Navy”.
He noted that the high status of the country as a powerful naval power, was conquered by the courage of the sailors and officers, the talent of crafters and courageous search of discovery.
Putin stressed that for centuries the courage and bravery of Russian sailors was tempered in battles on sea and on land honed their martial skills, strengthen the tradition of unique marine fraternity. “In the years of the great Patriotic war, the fleet of death stood at the shores and borders of the Motherland forever in the annals of the great Victory — the battle for Odessa and Sevastopol, Severomorsk exploits of the legendary raids of Soviet submarines, the defense of Leningrad and impregnable Kronstadt”, — said Putin, stressing that “the Navy and devotion to the Motherland is indivisible”.
