The introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions approved by the us Congress means the US desire to see Russia’s steps to improve bilateral relations. This is stated in a written statement, us Secretary of state Rex Tillerson, published on Saturday, July 29, at the state Department website.

“The almost unanimous vote in the [House and Senate] Congress on the bill on sanctions reflects the strong will of the American people, who wants Russia took steps to improve relations with the United States,” — the document says.

Tillerson also expressed hope for cooperation “on major global issues” between the two countries, noting that sanctions will not need. “We will work closely with our friends and allies to make sure that our message to Russia, Iran, and North Korea is clearly understood,” added the diplomat.

Earlier that day, the press service of the White house stated that US President Donald trump plans to sign the Senate bill to increase sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea. “Trump has read the original versions of the bill and discussed its critical elements. Now he became acquainted with the final version and, based on the fact that his remarks were taken into account, endorses the bill and intends to sign it”, — told in the administration of the President.

27 July the us Senate passed a bill on sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea, after which the document was sent for signature to President Donald Trump. The day before the White house said it strongly supported the sanctions policy against Moscow.
