SEVASTOPOL, July 27. /TASS/. The name “Sevastopol” is planned to assign to the head of the universal amphibious ship of the new project, which is expected to arrive in the fleet after 2022. On Thursday on a press-conferences were reported by the Deputy of the state Duma of Sevastopol Dmitry Belik, referring to the letter of the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation, received in response to the appeal of MP (at the disposal of TASS).
“In order to preserve the memory of the hero-city of Sevastopol and its heroic traditions valid name “Sevastopol” is planned to assign to the head of the universal amphibious ship of the new project, entering the Navy of the Russian Federation after 2022,” read Belik letter of the Ministry of defense, signed by the chief of the General staff Valery Gerasimov, which did not specify the name of the project.
