Academician called “the main killers” of Russians
MOSCOW, 26 Aug — RIA Novosti. Director of the research Institute of neurosurgery named Burdenko, academician Alexander Potapov called “the main killers” of Russians: it’s still vascular pathology, Oncology and trauma, mainly in case of accident.
According to Rosstat, in 2016 approximately 900 thousand Russians died from diseases of blood circulation system, about 300 thousand were victims of tumors, primarily malignant, approximately 170 thousand died from injuries.

“Oncology next, the third place — trauma and all kinds of injuries,” he added. According to the academician, on the roads annually perish about 28 thousand people, mainly due to traumatic brain injury, and about 300 thousand become disabled.
According to Rosstat, in the first five months of 2017, died 791 thousand Russians, and born — 679,2 thousand. Compared to the same period last year, and the death rate and the birth rate has dropped (when these figures were 804,1 thousand and 762,5 thousand people respectively), but the natural decrease of the population exceeded by almost three times (111,8 thousand against 41.6 thousand persons). However, the loss in numbers by 72.2% offset the migration gain.
