According to Pompeo, while Russia and Iran are expected to represent a significant problem in the future, China represents a greater threat now due to its stable economy and growing military power, which is aimed at countering the United States.
“I think that China has the opportunity to make the United States a serious competition in the medium and long term,” he said. According to him, China’s military building up forces to counter the American initiatives throughout the world.
