The Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said that between the upper and lower chambers of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation there are no serious contradictions.
“We cannot be in contradiction, but there are differences in some laws,” the speaker said at a press conference on the results of the spring session of 2017, answering the question about the interaction of the state Duma and the Federation Council. She added that the main common goal of the Parliament – to develop and adopt qualitative laws.
Speaking about disagreements, Matvienko noted that they occur within the “normal business practice and enable us to make better laws.”
