The existence of U.S. military bases in Syria has no legal basis. On Friday, July 21, Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, reports RIA Novosti.

On 20 July, the Director of the CIA Mike Pompeo said that Russia is involved in Syrian Affairs, in particular, because “he wants to annoy the US”. According to the American, he has no clear evidence that Moscow is actually seeking to defeat the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia).

“I’m about at the same time, I read and heard even that the USA has ten bases in Syria, so it turns out that by and large, Mr. Pompeo wants the same thing and we in Syria, only several times more”, — said Lavrov.

The Minister added that Russia, unlike the United States, their two bases from anybody does not hide. “They are created and operate on the basis of intergovernmental agreements, and their task is to assist in the fight against terrorists, of which there are still quite a lot” , — concluded the Minister.

From September 2015 Russia on an official request from the Syrian government strikes in Syria strikes on the positions of militants IG. The same action is in Syria the US-led international coalition, however, without the permission of Damascus.
