Ukraine gave the UN proof “of Russia’s participation” in the war in the Donbass
KIEV, 22 Aug — RIA Novosti. Ukraine handed over to the UN international court thousands of pages of “documentary evidence” of Russian involvement in the conflict in the Donbass, said the head of the SBU Basil Gritsak.
Ukraine in January 2017 filed in the international court of justice United Nations in the Hague a lawsuit against Russia.
Kiev claims that Moscow had violated the two conventions — for the suppression of the financing of terrorism and the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination.
For the period of the trial, the Ukraine demanded to impose so-called interim measures against Russia.
“You all know that in January Ukraine has initiated a lawsuit in the court of justice concerning Russia’s support of terrorism in the Donbass… Already transferred thousands of pages of documents the documentary evidence of the crimes of the Russian Federation on the Donbass and the Crimea”, — said Hrytsak at a briefing on Saturday, which was broadcast Ukrainian TV channels.
The court granted one demand of Kiev and ruled that Russia “should refrain” from restrictions on “the ability of Crimean Tatars to preserve their institutions of government” and to ensure the opportunity of learning Ukrainian.
The court did not heed the position of Ukraine on the claim of violation of the Convention on financing of terrorism.
