The head of the Pentagon suggests that the leader of ISIS in al-Baghdadi is alive
WASHINGTON, 21 Aug — RIA Novosti. The Minister of defence of the USA James Mattis suggests that the leader of the group “Islamic state”* (banned in Russia) to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is alive, Reuters reported.
According to the Minister, al-Baghdadi is still “playing a role” in the activities of the IG*.
Earlier, the Iraqi news portal “Sumaria news” reported that a source in the IG* acknowledged the death of al-Baghdadi. As reported by the Iraqi newspaper, in a statement, the group says that al-Baghdadi was killed, and soon will be announced the name of his successor. No details of the death of the leader of the group failed.
Prior to that, the defense Ministry announced that al-Baghdadi might be killed as a result of the impact of Air and space forces of the Russian Federation on 28 may in the southern suburb of Raqqa, the information is verified.
