The Ministry of education is preparing a pilot project on carrying out of lessons of contemporary history of Russia that will be devoted to the main directions of state policy for the last three years.
As explained in Department, the existing school curriculum on the history of Russia does not cover a substantial part of the events that have occurred in recent years. This allows students to build an objective picture of reality.
Lessons of contemporary history of Russia will be carried out not less than once per month in a few regions in the list specified. The aim of the project is to provide students with accurate information about events that are not yet described in textbooks.
Crimea became part of Russia after the referendum held in March 2014. This decision was made by the majority of the members voting. Kiev the results of the plebiscite refuses to admit. Moscow insists that the referendum was carried out in accordance with all norms of international law.
