Spanish police found the stolen paintings by Francis bacon
Moscow. July 20. INTERFAX.RU Spanish police found three of the five stolen paintings by British artist Francis bacon, said on Thursday the representative of law enforcement bodies.
Five works by bacon were stolen from the apartment of his friend in Madrid in 2015, their total value amounts to more than 25 million euros.
Law enforcement agencies do not disseminate information about what is depicted on the stolen paintings. However, earlier local media reported that the portraits of each artist, from whom they were stolen.
In 2016, the Spanish police arrested 10 people suspected of involvement in the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
Francis bacon (1909-1992), was famous as one of the most prominent representatives of expressionism of the twentieth century, raised in his works the themes of alienation, religion and death.
