In the state Duma a bill on compulsory showing of Patriotic films, the military and the law enforcement officers. The document published in the electronic database of the lower house of Parliament on Tuesday, July 18.
“An important place in the system of war propaganda, of course, is the cinematography, which is caused by social and psychological possibilities of its influence on personality. One of the reasons underlying the impact of cinema on the audience is the high degree of identification between the viewer and the films characters,” — said in the explanatory note to the draft law, sponsored by deputies from the LDPR faction Alexander Sherin and Vladimir Sysoev.
The document notes that among the conscripts “not so great level of patriotism and positive attitudes towards service”. To fix this, themed movies to be demonstrated in all military units, in military educational institutions and in public authorities in the field of security and law enforcement
activities.
In February of last year the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has declared patriotism as a national idea. He stressed that this idea should not be linked to the activities of any political party.
According to the Fund data “Public opinion” currently, 78 percent of Russians consider themselves patriots. Half of respondents believe that love of country is instilled focused on Patriotic education.
