MOSCOW, 16 Jul — RIA Novosti. In society there was a demand for responsible government, which first needs to be able to hear and defend the interests of their constituents, said the speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
“There was a demand for responsible government. Responsible government in the first place, especially if we are talking about legislative power — is the ability to hear and to keep up the interests and provide the population during decision-making, discussion, decisions. So the agenda really takes into account just the questions, the population translates to the deputies,” — said Volodin in the program “Time” on “the First channel”.
He noted that since the start of the state Duma of the seventh convocation adopted 354 of the law. “We’ve still got a week (until the end of the spring session). Clearly, the number (enacted laws) will increase. But it is smaller than was considered by our predecessors over the same period, say, 2016,” — said Volodin.
In his opinion, should not be a race for the number of adopted laws, it is important their quality.
