In Washington, negotiations Ryabkov and Shannon
WASHINGTON, 18 Jul — RIA Novosti. Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and US Undersecretary of state Thomas Shannon has completed negotiations in Washington, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.
From this round of consultations depends on the possible adoption of Moscow’s response.
The last consultation, which was scheduled for June 23 in St. Petersburg, have been cancelled. As Ryabkov said, after Washington’s decision to expand anti-Russian sanctions because of the situation around Ukraine “the situation is not conducive to the conduct of a round of such a dialogue.”
Earlier, a senior official in the White house told RIA Novosti that the US does not intend to return of diplomatic property of Russia, access to which was blocked during the administration of former President Barack Obama, without getting “something in return”.
As reported the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin hoped that the United States will show political wisdom and will to solve the issue with diplomatic property of the Russian Federation.
The Obama administration at the end of December 2016, passed a package of anti-Russian sanctions because of alleged “interference in election” and “pressure on American diplomats” working in Russia. Among other things, the United States has closed access to the two residential complexes, the so — called suburban “summer cottages” Russia’s permanent mission in new York and the Russian Embassy in Washington, which is the Russian diplomatic property.
