The police of the city of Pervouralsk (Sverdlovsk oblast) detained a man suspected in the damage of a monument to Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin in the village of Dinas. This was announced on Sunday, July 16, a representative of the regional Department of internal Affairs Valery Burnt.
According to him, local residents said the vandalism the night before. The guards quickly identified the personality of the malefactor: he was a man named Dennis born in 1985. It turned out that he was drunk. “According to the detectives, he for a long time uses drugs,” — said Gorelykh.
In respect of the detainee initiated a case on an administrative offence. Law enforcement bodies solve a question on excitation of criminal case under article “Vandalism”, the man could face up to three years of imprisonment.
The newspaper “Yekaterinburg Online” adds that the monument, which stands in front of the Palace of culture Ogneuporschik in Dinas, broke off the head. According to witnesses, the upper part of the monument lying on the ground, shattered to pieces.
In may it was reported that students from the village of Ushumun (Amur oblast) broke the statue of Lenin because of disagreements with him on political issues. The teenagers pleaded guilty and expressed willingness to restore the monument with the participation of their parents.
