The new Ambassador of France in Moscow can be a woman

According to sources, “b”, new Ambassador of France in Moscow can be assigned to Sylvia Berman, who until recently headed the French Embassy in London.

If Ms. Berman will receive the approval (consent) from Moscow, to perform their new duties, it will proceed is expected in September: former Ambassador of France in Russia Jean-Maurice Ripert has already been sent to the Embassy in China, where this week presented his credentials to the President of China XI Jinping.

MS Berman — one of the most respected French diplomats, the first woman appointed Ambassador of France to one of the countries—permanent members of the UN Security Council in 2011-2014 she was head of the French Embassy in Beijing.

63-year-old Ms. Berman is known primarily as a sinologist: in 1976, she is still 22-year-old student at the elite Paris Institute of political Sciences Sciences Po spent a year studying in Beijing.

Last year the French magazine Vanity Fair included Sylvie Berman in the top 50 most influential French people, placing to 7th place in the list — just one position below of Emmanuel Macron, had not yet won the presidential election.
