White house: new sanctions bill against Russia carries risks for US foreign policy
In mid-June, the Senate passed a bill to increase pressure on Iran, which includes the amendment to expand the sanctions regime against Russia.
WASHINGTON, July 12. /TASS/. The US government believes that the bill on sanctions against Iran, including the extension of restrictions in respect of Russia, carries certain risks for the possibility of the current administration to implement foreign policy. This was announced Wednesday at a press briefing, first Deputy press Secretary of the White house Sarah Sanders.
“In its current form, the bill poses risks for the implementation of the current government’s foreign policy. While they [lawmakers] will not move forward in this process, we comment on it more will not,” she said answering the question of whether the President intends to veto this bill.
