Nobel peace prize human rights activist Liu Xiaobo died in China. About it reports Reuters.
Liu died in the city hospital of Shenyang, where he was serving a sentence for inciting Subversion of the state system. According to official data, the cause of his death was launched cancer of the liver, causing multiple lesions of internal organs.
Liu Xiaobo was awarded the Nobel prize in 2010. He taught Philology at the University. During the protests in Tiananmen square in 1989, he returned from the United States, which at the time was on a business trip, supported the action, but urged the students and their supporters to disperse peacefully to avoid unnecessary casualties.
He was arrested and spent six months in prison, but after admitting their mistakes released. In 1996 he was again imprisoned as a dissident and sent to a detention camp. In 2008, Liu Xiaobo signed Charter 08 with the requirement of democratic reforms, he was arrested and sentenced to 11 years in prison, after which he was awarded the Nobel peace prize.
The conclusion of Liu Xiaobo was serving a sentence in prison of Shenyang, shortly before his death, he was transferred to the city hospital.
