The Kremlin has assessed the consequences of Ukraine’s accession to NATO

Ukraine’s accession to NATO will contribute to stability in Europe. This statement was made by press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. His words TASS reports.

“Russia has for many years greatly concerned about the approach of NATO’s military infrastructure to our borders. It will be a further step, potentially, this could be a further step in this direction, which, of course, will not contribute to strengthening stability and security on the European continent”, — said Peskov.

On 6 July the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law about the priority of membership of Kiev in NATO. On 10 July the head of state noted that Ukraine will apply for membership in the military Alliance only after conduct the necessary reforms in the main sectors of the state.
