In Argentina, please call the public Prosecutor for questioning on suspicion of corruption
The investigation related to the purchase in 2013 of the building for the Prosecutor’s office, the cost of which amounted to $2.6 million.
BUENOS AIRES, July 12. /TASS/. Argentine Prosecutor Eduardo Taiano on Tuesday asked the court to call for questioning of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Alejandro Gils Carbo suspected of corruption. A petition was published on the news portal of the Department.
According to the document, the Prosecutor accused Gils Carbo and other defendants in the case “in the fraud, who inflicted harm to the state, abuse of power, accepting bribes, trading in influence and conduct activities incompatible with public office”.
The investigation related to the purchase of a building for the Prosecutor’s office in 2013, which would cost $ 43,85 million pesos ($2.6 million). According to the prosecution, the suspects identified the winner before the announcement. “Although the administrative procedure look legitimate, in fact it was the result of fraud, which infringed upon the interests of the state and held for the benefit of the accused”, — is spoken in the document.
