The liberal Democrats supported the position of the Communist party, declaring their intention to reconsider their participation in the Governor’s election campaign, if the candidates of the party will not be admitted to the elections for the municipal filter. About it reports “Interfax” on Monday, July 10.
“We fully support this position,” — said Vice-speaker of the state Duma from LDPR Igor Lebedev, reading the statement of the Central Committee of the Communist party.
Lebedev stressed that the liberal Democrats have long spoken about the need to abolish the municipal filter. “This year we won’t revisit the issue in relation to the September elections, since our candidates have already passed this filter, but in the next election, if the decision on its cancellation will not be accepted finished their participation in the elections to see,” he said.
July 7, the Communist party criticized the “primitive mechanism” the municipal filter. “In the current gubernatorial campaign is the weakest of the candidates of the party in power once again trying through manipulation with the “filter” to prevent the election of the most influential and dangerous of opponents,” reads the party statement. The Communists encouraged to support this statement, all political movements.
On 28 March the head of the CEC of Russia, Ella Pamfilova said that the municipal filter that requires gubernatorial candidates to collect signatures of local deputies, could be simplified.
Under current law, anyone wishing to run for the post of the head of region will pass the municipal filter to collect the signatures of 5-10 per cent, depending on decisions of the subject of municipal deputies.
