Tillerson: trump and Putin have given Syria most of the time in the negotiations
WASHINGTON, Aug 7 — RIA Novosti. The presidents of the United States and Russia Donald trump, and Vladimir Putin, Syria received most of the time at the talks, told reporters U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson.
The first meeting of the leaders of Russia and the United States took place in Hamburg on the sidelines of the “Big twenty” and continued for almost 2.5 hours.
Most of these discussions, according to Tillerson, was dedicated to the Syrian settlement “with lots of detail and exchange views on the agreement, which was announced today.”
Tillerson added that trump and Putin tried to clarify, “where are we going” and try to achieve clarity, as the conflict in Syria sees both sides of the similarity in the positions and their differences.
“For the most part our goals are the same. How we move, we have different views, but we have much more in common than differences. We spent a lot of time discussing the next steps. And where we have differences, we have more work we have to do,” said Tillerson.
“Maybe our approach is wrong and them right?” said U.S. Secretary of state.
