MOSCOW, 7 Feb — RIA Novosti. In Hamburg on the sidelines of the summit of “Big twenty”, held talks between Vladimir Putin and Donald trump, they lasted more than two hours. This is the first personal meeting between the presidents of Russia and the USA, which previously communicated only by phone.
In the beginning of the conversation Putin and trump greeted each other. The Russian President has reminded that they have discussed by phone a number of important issues, but to address the most pressing issues not enough — we need personal meetings. Trump, in turn, said that he was honoured to negotiate with Putin. He added that Russia and the United States “await positive developments”. The presidents agreed that negotiations should be successful.

Having made these brief statements, the presidents made clear that it is open to the press part of the meeting ended. Journalists in eager rivalry began to shout questions, drowning each other. Putin and trump did not respond and continued to quietly talk. On request once again to shake the hands of presidents also did not respond. The meeting continued behind closed doors.

Lately in Moscow and Washington recognized that the relations between the parties are at the lowest point since the cold war. Therefore, as stressed in the Kremlin, a personal meeting between the presidents is very important to restore dialogue between the two countries, as well as ensuring international stability and security.
