Putin arrived in Hamburg to attend the G20 summit

HAMBURG, Aug 7 — RIA Novosti. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has arrived in Hamburg to attend the G20 summit, the Russian leader will also hold a series of meetings on the sidelines of the event.

The summit will be held July 7-8. Putin will take part in the working sessions on various topics, as well as the informal meeting on the issue of combating terrorism.

The President also will meet with colleagues from USA, France, Germany, Turkey, Prime Ministers of Japan and Australia.

Prior to the event, the German newspaper Handelsblatt published an article by Russian President, in which he gave an assessment to work together on this international platform. According to Putin, the G20 over the past years has established itself as a popular mechanism for coordination of interests and positions of the world’s leading economies, coordinated actions helped to overcome the consequences of the financial and economic crisis, the summit failed to resolve many long-standing problems.

The Russian leader also noted that Russia welcomes the inclusion in the agenda of the G20 topics such as combating terrorism and corruption, migration and climate change.
