The mayor of Novokuznetsk Sergey Kuznetsov was surprised by the information that he allegedly included the administration of the President in the list of candidates on a post of the Governor of the Kemerovo region. It is reported RIA Novosti on Friday, July 7.

“The first time I hear about it,” — said the official. He stressed that next year his task is to prepare the city for the celebration of the 400-year anniversary: “I Believe that this is my mission for at least the next year and then the people will decide”.

The mayor appealed not to write off 73-year-old Kemerovo Governor from the accounts. “Mr Tuleyev — the man who will stand on my feet, back and is all show,” — said Kuznetsov.

A day earlier “Kommersant” referring to sources reported that the AP had formed a list of 20 candidates for the position of head of the Kemerovo region. In it, in particular, included the first Vice-Governor of Kuzbas Vladimir Chernov, the mayor of Novokuznetsk Sergey Kuznetsov, the President of the holding “Siberian business Union” Mikhail Fedyaev, the mayor of Nizhny Tagil Sergey Nosov and the Deputy of the state Duma from the Kemerovo region Dmitry Islamov.

Currently Tuleyev continues rehabilitation after undergoing spinal surgery in Moscow under the control of the Ministry of health of Russia.

On 21 June after media reports about the possible resignation Tuleyev, the regional administration said that the politician has no plans to resign and intends to perform his duties until the end of Governor’s term until 2020.

Aman Tuleyev headed the Kemerovo oblast in 1997. In September 2015 he was elected head of the region for the fifth time, gaining more than 96 percent of the votes.
