A quarter of a million Russians lost their driver’s license for the debts

More than 260 thousand Russians were temporarily denied driver’s license because of debts, reports TASS with reference to data of Federal service of court bailiffs (FSSP).

Of these, 188 thousand persons for failure to pay child support.

In may of the current year of citizens, which applied such a restrictive measure has increased by 30 thousand.

Just deprived of the rights for debts of the Russians as of June 1, 2017 must pay 75 billion rubles.

On 4 July Russia proposed to increase the threshold of debt for going abroad three times: from 10 to 30 thousand rubles. The innovation does not apply to debts for alimony and compensation for moral damages and harm caused to health, property of citizens associated with the death of a breadwinner.

In October 2016, it was reported that millions of Russians began to travel abroad from the country due to accumulated debts. Of these, 200 thousand citizens, deprived of the driving license.

January 15, 2016 came into force a law allowing bailiffs to temporarily limit the debtors right to management of transport.
