Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President XI Jinping during an informal meeting on Monday discussed the situation on the Korean Peninsula and the Syrian issue, told the Xinhua news Agency.

“Both sides agreed that China and Russia should maintain strategic cooperation to promote peace talks and solve problems on the Korean Peninsula appropriately, and to encourage all parties to resolve the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula through dialogue and negotiations”, — quotes the message of the Chinese Agency RIA “Novosti”.

According to Xinhua, the two leaders reaffirmed that oppose the deployment of us missile THAAD in South Korea.

Today is the official XI Jinping’s talks with President Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov reported that on Tuesday a planned full-scale bilateral talks in narrow and expanded formats. According to Peskov, the meeting will be held in “weird format”: the two leaders “will meet with members of the public, business and media community of Russia and China, which are in their areas briefly inform Putin and XI Jinping on their collaboration”.

According to the results of a two-day visit is expected to be signed 40 bilateral documents, including on cooperation in trade, energy, education. Russia and China will sign several dozen contracts worth more than $ 10 billion. In addition, the parties will sign a joint statement on deepening the relations, comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction, as well as approved an action plan for the implementation of the Treaty on good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation for 2017-2020.
