Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine asked Brussels to discuss the possibility of EU membership
The heads of the parliaments of the three countries signed a joint statement which will be sent to Brussels ahead of the summit of the Eastern partnership.
CHISINAU, 5 July. /TASS/. The parliaments of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine issued a joint Declaration which ask you to raise in Brussels the question of the possibility of its membership in the EU. This was informed at a briefing on Wednesday, the Chairman of the legislative body of Moldova Andrian CANDU.
“The three heads of parliaments signed a joint statement asking the European Parliament to adopt a resolution to voice the perspectives of the membership of these States in the EU”, said CANDU.
He noted that the statement will be sent to Brussels on the eve of the Eastern partnership summit, which is scheduled for autumn this year.
“In the current geopolitical situation, this will be a good incentive to continue reforms in three countries that have signed the Association agreement with the EU”, — said the speaker.
