Putin praised humanitarian cooperation between Russia and China

Russia and China are successfully implementing joint humanitarian projects, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with representatives of business circles of the two countries. It is reported by TASS on Tuesday, July 4.

Putin highlighted the Russian-Chinese Committee of friendship, peace and development, which plans this year to implement 180 different projects. He expressed hope that he “will also creatively, innovatively, to carry out its important mission to promote mutual understanding and good neighborliness between the peoples of our States.”

The President also noted the work of the Society of Russian-Chinese friendship and business councils of the two countries. In addition, he drew attention to the passing in Moscow Russian-Chinese media forum. Media representatives of the two countries “made a significant contribution to the formation of atmosphere of trust and understanding, strengthening of international positions of Russia and China,” stressed the head of state.

Earlier on Tuesday Vladimir Putin met in the Kremlin with President of China XI Jinping. The two leaders discussed issues related to the Korean Peninsula and Syria.

Members of the Chinese delegation were treated to dishes of Russian cuisine — in particular, cream of Morel soup and pancakes with caviar. The menu also included salad, scallops, a sorbet of persimmon pork tenderloin with potato muslin and salmon fillet with carrot. For dessert, served ice cream made of dark chocolate.

The last time Putin and XI met in June in Astana at the summit of the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO).
