Kurdish forces broke into the old part of Raqqa
The operation was carried out with the support of the air force international anti-terrorist coalition headed by the USA.
WASHINGTON, July 4. /TASS/. The armed coalition of “democratic Forces of Syria” (SDS) with support from the air force, international anti-terrorist coalition headed by the USA entered the old part of the Syrian city of raqqa, controlled by the gangs of the extremist group “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia). This was reported in the press service of the headquarters of the coalition.
“Overcoming stiff resistance from ISIS, groups of SDS broke into the old part of the city of raqqa”, the statement reads. “Coalition forces helped SDS to move forward in the most fortified [fighters] part Raqqa, breaking holes in the wall surrounding the old city”, — explained in the headquarters.
Earlier on Monday, Al Arabiya television channel reported that the SDS troops, supported by air force planes of the international coalition destroyed over the past day 34 terrorists of ISIS. Losses in the ranks of the SDS for the whole of June was 77 fighters.
