Putin congratulated Lukashenka on the independence Day of Belarus

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has congratulated his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on the Day of independence of Belarus, noting the positive dynamics of cooperation between the two countries. This is the website of the Kremlin on Monday, 3 July.

In his congratulatory telegram, the Russian leader pointed to the high level of cooperation in the framework of the Union state, the Eurasian economic Union, the organization of collective security Treaty (CSTO) and the CIS.

“It is symbolic that this holiday is celebrated on the day of liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders. The bonds of fraternal friendship and camaraderie, forged in the harsh war years, and today is the successful development of Russian-Belarusian allied relations,” Putin said.

30 June, the presidents of the two countries held a meeting of the Supreme state Council of the Union state. During the meeting summed up the results of trade-economic cooperation of two countries in 2016. They also discussed prospects for cooperation in machine-building and agroindustrial complexes.
