Media: unknown opened fire near a mosque in the French city of Avignon
Suffered at least eight people.
MOSCOW, July 3. /TASS/. At least eight people were injured Sunday evening in a shooting near a mosque in the French city of Avignon (South-East). This was reported by the newspaper La Provence.
According to the newspaper, the incident occurred at about 22:30 local time (23:30 GMT). Two men in masks drove up to the mosque by car and opened fire at the door of the building people. The result was injured four people who were on the street, and a family of four living in the building nearby.
On a scene there arrived police. The gunman managed to escape.
