European Commission President admitted that he is still no smartphone

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker unexpectedly admitted that has no smartphone.

“I’m not supposed to say this, but I will say: I still don’t have a smartphone,” said 62-year-old official at a press conference.

This recognition was made during the temporary transfer of presidential powers in Estonia, a country exceptionally advanced in information technology, which first introduced the electronic voting system.

Juncker joked that the Prime Minister of Estonia jüri Ratas sent him an invitation to visit Tallinn postcard, “in the NINETEENTH century,” and that he could not become the Prime Minister of Estonia due to its technical backwardness.

The head of the European Commission in the past has been Prime Minister of Luxembourg, and, according to sources in the EU, still prefer the old model Nokia.

During its six-month presidency of Estonia intends to promote in the EU the technological issues as well as more immediate problems, such as negotiations on the “broksita” and migration.

Juncker is not the only old — timer in politics, resisting new technologies.

Angela Merkel, the incumbent Chancellor of Germany since 2005, still do not have an account in Twitter.
