Zakharov: Bogdanov did not discuss with the ambassadors of EU funding for the reconstruction of Syria

The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova denied the publication of the newspaper the Financial Times reported, citing Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov about the fact that Russia allegedly demands from the West to Finance the reconstruction of Syria. She declared it on air of TV channel NTV.

Zakharov said that in a special section on the official website of the Russian foreign Ministry on Monday will be published the corresponding “fake” publication, which States, “Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs Mr. Bogdanov met in Moscow with the ambassadors of EU countries to which in the categorical form has raised the question of the allocation of billions of euros or dollars to rebuild Syria.”

According to the official representative the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, is actually at the traditional meeting of the Deputy foreign Minister with the ambassadors of the EU countries, which was held in early February, “no financing, Finance, no injections, in principle, are not discussed.”

Zakharov noted that the flow of false information from the Western media becomes more and more refined.

“If we talk, say, about the American media, Russia – the manner and method of conducting political struggle. If we talk about European media, there needs Russia in order to build a new relationship with a new U.S. administration. In order not to forget about Euro-Atlantic structures, it is necessary to frighten Russia and say that they are on some cutting edge, almost in the front line,” – said the diplomat.

On February 23 the Financial Times published an article which, citing unnamed European diplomats stated that “Russia demands from world powers to pay for the rebuilding of Syria.”
