The plans of the Russian billionaire, the former Deputy of the state Duma Anton Borkov to revive the Romanov Empire in the Pacific Islands discrediting the very idea of monarchy, said the Director of the office of the Russian Imperial House, Alexander Zakatov. This opinion he expressed on Monday, February 27, the TV channel “360”.

“Those people who seriously professed monarchist beliefs, it is not very pleasant. (…) It is just about the mockery of the very idea of monarchy, above all the suffering imposed on those same Romanovs and those people who remained loyal,” said Sunset.

In his opinion, the project tanks could be considered commercial, but in reality it is, rather, a “pure buffoonery”.

Earlier on Monday it became known that the government of the Republic of Kiribati has refused to the former Deputy in the lease and temporary transfer of sovereign rights on the three Islands. According to Radio New Zealand, this decision was made by the special Commission on foreign investment.
