The President of the United States Donald trump is upset that the death of the permanent representative of Russia to the UN Vitaly Churkin. As reported on Wednesday, February 22, TASS, said in a statement issued by the White house.
“President Donald trump was distressed to learn of the sudden death of the Russian permanent representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin,” — said in the administration of the President of the United States, adding that trump condolences to the Russians on behalf of the American people and government.
The White house called Churkin an experienced diplomat and recalled that he worked with their American counterparts in new York for over 10 years. “Although American officials sometimes do not agree with its Russian partners, Ambassador Churkin played a key role, working with the United States on a number of important issues to strengthen global security,” the statement reads.
21 Feb condolences on the passing Churkin brought during a telephone conversation with Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson. Earlier condolences on the passing Churkin expressed the United States Ambassador in Moscow John Tefft, US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley and her predecessor, Samantha Power.
