Putin: Churkin strongly defended the Russian position on major global themes and never knew defeat

MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the permanent representative of Russia to the UN Vitaly Churkin, who died the day before at the age of 64 years, one of the most prominent diplomats, who brilliantly solved the problem and did not know defeat. The text of the telegram of condolence of the head of state the wife of a diplomat Irina Churkinoj and his children Anastasia and Alexander Churkin published Tuesday on the Kremlin website.

“Please accept my deepest condolences in the passing Your husband and father Vitaly Ivanovich. His untimely death is a severe, truly an irreparable loss for Russian foreign policy. And because it happened so suddenly, the pain of loss is felt particularly acutely,” wrote Putin.
