The government will allocate subsidies between Russia’s leading universities

Moscow. 21 Feb. INTERFAX.RU Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a government decree “On the distribution of subsidies between Russia’s leading universities to enhance their competitiveness among the leading world scientific and educational centers,” published Tuesday on the government website.

“In the framework of the state program “Development of education” for 2013-2020 funds in the amount of 10.3 billion rubles are allocated 21 Russian universities to improve their competitiveness among leading research and educational centers. Funds provided for these purposes in the Federal budget for 2017″, — stated in the decree of February 17, 2017 No. 281-R.

According to the introduction of the Russian Ministry of education and signed by the head of government is the document that approves the distribution in 2017 of the Federal budget subsidies provided for in the Federal budget in the framework of the subprogram “the Implementation of educational programs of professional education” state program “education Development” for 2013-2020.

The decision on granting state support was adopted by the Ministry of education based on recommendations of the Council on enhancing the competitiveness of leading Russian universities among leading research and educational centers.

Following consideration of the reports of the leading universities for 2015 the Council recommended to allocate three groups of leading universities. Based on the recommendations of the Council in 2016 were allocated to three groups of leading universities, state support was provided to 21 Russian universities (7 universities in each group). In 2017, the subsidies are also provided three groups of leading universities. The volume of state support in 2017 will be: the universities of the first group — 849,2 million; the universities of the second group — 482,2 million; universities of the third group — 141,5 million.
