The Novgorod Governor has announced his resignation

The Governor of the Novgorod region Sergey Mitin has decided to leave his post early. He said this to journalists during a briefing on Monday, February 13, reports TASS.

Mitin added that it plans to participate in the elections this fall, therefore, appealed to President Vladimir Putin with a request to give him a new assignment.

6 Feb of resignation was declared by the Governor of Perm region Viktor Basargin, acting head of Prikamye appointed the former head of the Department of economic policy and development of Moscow Maxim Reshetnikov.

A day later, the resignation of the head of Buryatia Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn. In this position he was replaced by former Deputy head of the Ministry of transport of Russia Alexey Tsydenov.

Sergey Mitin headed the Novgorod region in August 2007. Before that, in 2004-2007, he held the position of Deputy Minister of agriculture in 2000-2004 — Deputy Minister of industry, science and technology.
