“This year ends my term as the Governor of the Novgorod region. For almost 10 years, my life is inextricably connected with the Novgorod earth. Mitin headed the Novgorod region since 2007.

Earlier local media reported that the place Mitina may take the General Director of the Agency for strategic initiatives (ASI) Andrei Nikitin, however, the Novgorod authorities called them rumors.

A series of resignations of heads of regions began last week.
