Maria Zakharova
The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that talk of possible extradition of the US of former CIA employee Edward Snowden and the NSA are trying to pressure the White house with political opponents inside the country. She wrote about this on Saturday, November 11, on his page in Facebook.
“All this statements by the representatives of special services, and information TV-channels NBC and CNN, citing unnamed security sources. The difference is significant, but only for specialists. For the indignation of public opinion and maintain a degree quite fit technology,” — said Zakharov.
Earlier on Saturday, Anatoly Kucherena, lawyer of Snowden, gave information about the results of the former US agent speculation coming from “so called sources of US intelligence”. The lawyer reminded that Snowden has a residence permit in Russia, does not violate the laws of the country, because the grounds for his extradition to the us side do not exist.
Snowden himself saw in recent media information “indisputable evidence” that he worked for Russian intelligence. “No country will sell their spy because others will be afraid that their turn will come”, — he wrote in his microblog.
11 February, the TV channel NBC, citing a source in the American intelligence reported that Russia is considering granting Snowden. The source of the channel stated that, according to Moscow, it may be one of the ways to “earn location” of U.S. President Donald trump.
