The chief Rabbi of Sochi Ari Edelkopf in his Facebook said that he and his family face deportation from Russia.

“Me and my family want to be deported from Russia. Called position. n. 1P.1st.7, N115-FZ, that is, our actions threaten the security of Russia”, – he wrote.

As reported “Interfax”, the head of the public relations Department of the Federation of Jewish communities Borukh Gorin, commenting on the situation, said that Edelkopf for 16 years in Sochi was only interested in one thing – to give the opportunity of Sochi to the Jews “to live a full Jewish life.”

According to Gorin, the prosecution of a Rabbi in violation of immigration laws is the result of “the desire overly zealous officials to get new “stars” for their activity in eliminating the alleged “violations of law”.

Earlier in Moscow on suspicion of violation of immigration laws detained the Rabbi of the synagogue in Khamovniki Joseph Herson.
