The state Duma adopted in the first reading the presidential draft law allowing civil servants and municipal officials to supervise the political parties. This was reported on the website of the lower house of Parliament on Friday, January 27.
For the adoption of the document voted 424 of 449 deputies.
In the laws regulating the work of local authorities, municipal and state employees, it is expected to make amendments allowing for the control of political parties and “other public organizations”.
These rules are contained in the anti-corruption package of presidential amendments. They distribute to municipalities the obligation to report annually on the income, expenses and assets, as well as a ban to have accounts abroad. In addition, the document requires applicants to universities of the FSB to submit a Declaration of income.
On Tuesday, January 24, the Duma Committee on security and combating corruption recommended the bill for adoption. The head of the Committee Vasily Piskarev said that he will help the heads of regions to more effectively fight corruption at the local government level.
23 January, President Vladimir Putin submitted to the state Duma a bill obliging to report the income and property of the acting governors along with officials working without the prefix “acting”.
