Putin called the partnership with India unchanged foreign policy priority

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has congratulated his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra modi on Republic Day, noting that the strategic partnership with India – unchanged foreign policy priority of Russia. The President’s telegram published on the Kremlin website.

The Republic day is celebrated on January 26, 1950, when entered into force the Constitution of the country. The first years of organized events in various venues in new Delhi, and since 1955, the holiday has gained its final form in parade along the main Avenue of the city Rajpath.

As the telegram says over the decades of independent development India has made impressive progress in economic, social, scientific-technical and other areas. According to Putin, India plays an important constructive role in resolving urgent issues of regional and international agenda.

“Special and privileged strategic partnership with India – unchanged foreign policy priority of Russia. Would like to reaffirm the readiness for further strengthening of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in various fields. Of great importance in this context, we think the implementation of the events dedicated to the 70-th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries”, — reads the telegram of the President.

Putin wished Mukherjee and modi good health and success, and “the friendly people of India welfare and prosperity”.
