Zhirinovsky called on to deal with arranged marriages

“That was not a beating, even the lightest, it is necessary for love marriage. Then there will be silence. Does not work — do not marry, do not rodite those who will be beaten, and not sit in prison for it”, — the politician said at a plenary session of the Duma during the discussion of the law on decriminalization of the battery.

According to Zhirinovsky, if the family tensions, it is necessary “to help to separate” spouses, not to punish for assault under the criminal code.

The leader of the liberal Democrats at the meeting made the remark to the Deputy from “Fair Russia”, a former football coach Valery Gazzayev, who during his speech tried to get up. “Sit down, Gazzaev, sit down, you lost the match!” said colleague Zhirinovsky.

Earlier Friday it was reported that the lower chamber of the Parliament adopted in final reading the law on decriminalization of battery against family members. Now for the first case of beating the spouses relies not criminal, but administrative punishment. For repeated acts committed in the course of the year, are punishable criminally.
